That One Day About Love

Robert and I decided we didn't want to do anything big for Valentines Day.

I got him a BIG bag of Skittles from Sam's Club and he cleaned the house for me. :)

I was at work and a vendor came in to get keys. He asked if many people had gotten flowers, I responded, "No, no one has. I guess our husbands are lame". Then I thought...I have actually never gotten flowers delivered to me, and probably never will. I was kinda sad (I get flowers from Robert just not delivered to work), but that's life and I moved on. I had to do showings that day and was out of the office. When I got back, I stepped in my office with a big box on my desk. My first thought was... what?! awww. But, my first words were, "What the hell?". haha, it just came out of my mouth and my coworker Tony was like, those are the words you decided to use?!

I was so surprised! Inside the box were these beautiful flowers (that are still alive in our living room and look great! Impressive), a vase, and a note. The note was so adorable, I cried. Everyone was watching me and Talia ask, "So... can we read it?!".

We ended the night eating at Hu Hot and red boxing "Premium Rush".

 I am blessed.

I'm Official!

After almost three months, I finally got my business cards this morning! Looked at the box and it has the wrong extension! Oh well. I'm happy to finally have some.  I feel cool, like I'm in a special club. Not really though just a full time worker.

-If you are wondering why it says "Millie"...that's what I go by at work because...there are two of us [Talia] in the office. It got really confusing so, I go by Millie. Weird I know but it works. The other Talia is awesome and we have become really great friends [So no bashing ;)].

{DIY Paint Chip Lampshade}

Remember when I posted about getting a lamp and shade at the thrift store for 2.97 each?

I FINISHED THE PROJECT! Yes.

Here's the process if you want to do it too!

1. Tools you need:
 A circle cutter
A lot of people have fancy one for scrapbooking
Obviously mine is a CAR. It's from Walmart and for kids. $4.00
Most people have these but if you don't the hot glue gun is about $2-3 at Hobby Lobby

2. You need to get [steal? nah] paint chips. I got mine from Walmart.

3. Cut out your circles

4. Glue your circles in a row

5. Glue your rows on the lampshade

6. FINISHED!!!

You can see through the paper when the light is on but I think it gives it a cool effect.

What I've been up to this week.

I found this drink on Pinterest and wanted to make it. It said that it was a detoxing drink and was refreshing. I just happened to have all the ingredients to make it! From here. Anyways... I hated it. I gagged every time I drank it. I couldn't even try and down it. I used mint leaves and not spearmint...so maybe that's it? I don't know.

You make it and let me know :)
Last week I made cilantro lime chicken tacos. I had an empty salsa jar and told Robert not to throw it away. So I had to think of something to do with it. This is what I came up with.

I painted the top with grey chalkboard paint... then put cotton swabs in it! I love how it turned out.
Also, that cute little birdy tube. That's my toilet paper holder I made a while back. It's from an Old Fashioned Oats containter. It fits toilet paper perfectly. I just cover it with cute paper but fabric might work better. My paper didn't go all the way around so the back has ugly cut up pink paper covering the rest [I just hide it:)]

My thrift finds yesterday! Each of them were $2.97. Left: adorable old vintage lame. Right: 3 tier plate display [for like desserts or condiments]. Front: A lamp shade that I ripped apart so I came make this. To come later!

Lamp beauty up close!!

HAPPY WEEK!!!!
